I was left wondering how every day of mine begins with a battle which would make the First World War look docile and peaceful.
At first, it starts with my black beep sending signals that its radar has detected enemy presence in my room. The clock ticks slowly. It waits for the exact time to the millisecond to explode with its ear shattering beep. I smother it with my pillow , but with all the battery strength its vocal chords can muster, the beeping gets even louder. I have no other go but to deliver the final blow by getting up from bed and punching its nose.
It immediately becomes silent. But with me wide awake, its mission is accomplished and I can't help feeling that it keeps looking at me with its eyebrows arched with the smugness of the victorious.
